Privacy Policy for Decidr
Last Updated: August 7, 2026
The short version: Everything you create in Decidr — your decisions, lists, streaks and settings — stays on your device. We never see it and it is never uploaded. The app does show ads and does report crashes, and those services collect device-level information of their own. Sections 2.2 and 8 explain exactly what and by whom.
1. Introduction
Welcome to Decidr ("we," "our," or "us"). This Privacy Policy explains how we handle information when you use our mobile application (the "App"). We are committed to protecting your privacy and being transparent about our practices.
2. Information We Collect
2.1 Local Data Storage
Decidr stores the following information locally on your device only:
- Decision History: Records of decisions you've made using our tools (coin flips, dice rolls, wheel spins, etc.)
- Custom Lists: Lists you create for personalized decision-making
- Streak Data: Your usage streak and activity statistics
- Achievement Progress: Unlocked badges and milestone data
- App Settings: Your preferences including notification settings, theme preferences, sound effects settings, and haptic feedback preferences
- Voice Input: When you use the voice input feature, audio is processed locally on your device and is not stored or transmitted
2.2 Information Collected by Third-Party Services
Decidr is free and supported by advertising. To show ads, report crashes and process purchases, the App includes services operated by other companies. These services collect information directly — it does not pass through us, and we cannot see individual users' records. Each is described in Section 8.
- Google AdMob (advertising): device advertising identifier, IP address, device and OS details, and ad interaction data (impressions and clicks), used to serve and measure ads.
- Firebase Crashlytics (stability): crash reports containing device model, OS version, app version, and a randomly generated installation identifier.
- Apple / Google (payments): if you buy the ad-free upgrade, your platform store processes the payment. We never receive or store your payment details.
- RevenueCat (purchase reporting): a purchase record and an anonymous, randomly generated user identifier, so we can see aggregate sales across both app stores.
2.3 Information We Do NOT Collect
- We do NOT collect your name, email address, or phone number
- We do NOT collect GPS or precise location
- We do NOT have access to your decision history, custom lists, or any content you create
- We do NOT record, store, or transmit voice input
- We do NOT sell your personal information
- We do NOT create accounts or profiles that identify you personally
3. How We Use Your Information
All data stored locally on your device is used solely to:
- Provide core app functionality (decision-making tools, history, streaks)
- Display your personal statistics and achievements
- Customize your app experience based on your settings
- Send local notifications (if enabled) to remind you about your streak
4. Data Storage and Security
4.1 Local Storage
All your data is stored locally on your device using secure, encrypted storage provided by your device's operating system. We use industry-standard local database technology (Hive) to ensure your data remains private and secure.
4.2 No Cloud Backup
We do not store your data in the cloud or on any external servers. This means:
- Your data is completely private and stays on your device
- If you uninstall the app or switch devices, your data will be lost unless you use your device's backup features
- We cannot recover your data if it's deleted or lost
5. Permissions
The app requests the following permissions:
5.1 Microphone Access
- Purpose: To enable voice input for entering questions or custom list items
- Usage: Audio is processed locally on your device and is never recorded, stored, or transmitted
- Optional: You can use the app without granting this permission
5.2 Speech Recognition
- Purpose: To convert your voice input to text
- Usage: Processed using your device's native speech recognition
- Optional: You can use the app without this feature
5.3 Notifications
- Purpose: To send you streak reminders and milestone celebrations (only if enabled)
- Usage: All notifications are scheduled locally on your device
- Optional: You can disable notifications at any time in Settings
5.4 Vibration
- Purpose: To provide haptic feedback for button presses and decision results
- Optional: Can be disabled in Settings
5.5 Internet Access
- Purpose: To load advertisements, submit crash reports, and process in-app purchases
- Usage: The App contacts Google's ad servers, Firebase, your platform's app store, and RevenueCat. It never uploads your decisions, lists, or settings
5A. Advertising
Decidr displays a banner advertisement on the Home screen and an occasional full-screen advertisement after you finish using a tool. These are served by Google AdMob.
5A.1 Your Choices
- Consent: In the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland, we show Google's consent form the first time you open the App. Your choice determines whether you see personalised or non-personalised ads.
- Device controls: You can limit ad tracking at any time — iOS: Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking. Android: Settings → Google → Ads.
- Remove them: Decidr offers a one-time in-app purchase that removes all advertising permanently. Once purchased, the advertising SDK is not initialised at all on future launches.
Google's handling of ad data is governed by the Google Privacy & Terms.
5B. In-App Purchases
Decidr offers one optional purchase: a one-time upgrade that removes advertising.
- Payment is handled entirely by Apple or Google. We never see or store your card details, billing address, or store account.
- Your purchase is remembered on your device. You can restore it on a new device using "Restore Purchase" in Settings.
- A record of the purchase is sent to RevenueCat, which we use to see total sales across both app stores. It is linked to a random identifier, not to you.
6. Sharing Features
When you use the share button to share a decision result:
- The app uses your device's native sharing functionality
- We do not track what you share or with whom
- Shared content only includes the decision result you choose to share
- No personal information is included in shared content
7. Children's Privacy
Decidr is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. Because the App displays advertising, we ask that children under 13 use it only with a parent or guardian's involvement.
We instruct Google to treat ad requests from this App as directed to a general audience. Parents who would prefer their child see no advertising at all can purchase the one-time ad-free upgrade described in Section 5B.
If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us at the address in Section 15 and we will delete it.
8. Third-Party Services
Decidr uses the following third-party services. Each has its own privacy policy governing the data it collects:
- Google AdMob — advertising. Privacy Policy
- Google Firebase Crashlytics — crash reporting, so we can fix bugs we would otherwise never hear about. Privacy Information
- RevenueCat — in-app purchase reporting. Privacy Policy
- Apple App Store / Google Play — payment processing for in-app purchases. Apple · Google
We have no control over how these companies use the data they collect, and we cannot access individual users' records held by them.
9. Data Deletion
You have complete control over your data:
- Clear All Data: Use the "Reset Settings" option in the app to clear all stored data
- Uninstall: Uninstalling the app will permanently delete all locally stored data
- Individual Items: You can delete individual history items or custom lists at any time within the app
10. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by:
- Updating the "Last Updated" date at the top of this policy
- Providing an in-app notification for significant changes
Your continued use of the app after changes indicates your acceptance of the updated policy.
11. Your Rights
Since all data is stored locally on your device, you have complete control:
- Access: All your data is accessible within the app
- Modify: You can edit or delete any data at any time
- Export: You can share your decision history using the export feature
- Delete: You can delete individual items or all data at once
12. International Users
Decidr can be used worldwide. The content you create never leaves your device. The third-party services in Section 8 operate globally and may process the data they collect on servers in the United States or elsewhere, under their own privacy policies.
13. California Privacy Rights (CCPA/CPRA)
California residents have rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act. In the past 12 months, Decidr has enabled the collection of identifiers (an advertising ID) and internet activity (ad interactions) by the third parties listed in Section 8, for advertising, crash reporting and purchase reporting.
We do not sell your personal information for money. Personalised advertising may, however, count as "sharing" for cross-context behavioural advertising under the CPRA. You can opt out at any time by:
- Declining personalised ads in the consent form, where shown
- Enabling "Limit Ad Tracking" / opting out of ad personalisation in your device settings
- Purchasing the ad-free upgrade, which stops the advertising SDK from loading entirely
To exercise any right — access, deletion, correction, or to opt out — email us at the address in Section 15.
14. European Users (GDPR)
For users in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland:
- Content you create stays on your device and is never processed by us.
- Advertising data is processed on the basis of your consent, collected through Google's consent form the first time you open the App. You may withdraw or change consent at any time.
- Crash reports and purchase records are processed under our legitimate interest in keeping the App working and understanding sales volume.
- Your rights: access, rectification, erasure, restriction, objection, and data portability. Contact us using Section 15 and we will respond within 30 days.
- You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority.
